These new beta versions of Apple’s upcoming software come hot on the heels of the third beta, as Apple works its way towards making these updates available to the public for the first time. It’s expected that iOS 26.1 and the other updates will be released in their final state towards the end of October or early in November.

Besides the usual bug fixes and improvements in iOS 26.1, the 26.1 update also includes new languages support for AirPods Live Translation feature, new languages support for Apple Intelligence, UI changes in Music app, performance improvements, and much more. There are also updates to the way that alarms are dismissed in the Clock app to avoid accidental cancelations.

In beta 4, Apple has brought in Liquid Glass transparency control toggle that lets you choose between Clear and Tinted options. The current version of Liquid Glass in iOS 26.0 is Clear, the new iOS 26.1 update brings in ability to switch between Clear and Tinted options, with latter one adding more contrast to Liquid Glass UI.

The new setting can be accessed on iOS and iPadOS by navigating to Settings > Display and Brightness, or System Settings > Appearance on the Mac.

You can head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device itself and grab the OTA update from there. Alternatively, you can download the IPSW file of iOS 26.1 and others from Apple Developer Program portal over at developer.apple.com and grab the file from there. Once downloaded, you can use Finder on Mac or iTunes on Windows to update the device.

We’ll let you know if any other changes or new additions are spotted in the new, fourth betas, once we have them installed.
